Sports art is something that I really enjoy working on. It pushes you to try new styles and create a sense of excitement for the game or athlete through art.
Orioles Magic
This theme was inspired by my Uncle's baseball attic. He has so much memorabilia up there. From baseball cards, to stadium seats, foam fingers to baseball bats, he has quite the collection! What I thought was interesting about it all was how different every material is in the collection he has. Some items are shiny, some are matte, some are old and torn, some are soft and woven. So this theme was created to be the fans ultimate package of fandom for their team.
Miracle Mets
Baseball is America's pastime. It has been around for over one hundred years! And when you look back at the old footage, and the old cards that were sold, there is a style that follows the game. This theme was inspired by old trading card styles, and the old "Cracker Jacks" vibe. A step back in time where it wasn't as much about shiny 3D logos and perfect movements, as much as it was about graphic art, illustration and a little bit of imperfection while watching on a TV.
Player Art
Making player art has always been step one for any of the sports designs I have done. It is a fun way to kick off a style for a larger campaign. I am a baseball card collector, and love how each tiny rectangular card has its own look and personality. Studying those older card designs acts as a major source of inspiration for me when building out these types of art boards.
